महामहिम राष्ट्रपति रामनाथ कोविंद जी द्वारा जल शक्ति अभियान “कैच द रेन” के संदर्भ में वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग आयोजित की गई। उक्त वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग में एन0आई0सी0 कुशीनगर से जनपद के जिलाधिकारी एस0 राजलिंगम, मुख्य विकास अधिकारी अनुज मलिक, डी0 डी0 ओ0 आर0 एस0 गौतम जिला पंचायती राज कार्यालय से सहायक नंदू व अन्य संबंधित अधिकारीगण जुड़े।
इस अवसर पर महामहिम राष्ट्रपति ने जल प्रबंधन के क्षेत्र में अनुकरणीय कार्य तथा जल अभियान के विस्तार द्वारा दैनिक जीवन में तथा पृथ्वी पर जल के महत्व को रेखांकित करने के प्रयास को सराहनीय बताया। उन्होनें कहा कि जल ही जीवन है और प्रकृति ने मानवता को जल संसाधन का वरदान दिया है। उन्होंने जल की महत्ता को बताते हुए कहा की आधुनिकता और औद्योगिक अर्थव्यवस्था के आगमन के बाद प्रकृति के साथ मानव जुड़ाव से वंचित हो गया है। जनसंख्या वृद्धि भी इसकी एक वजह है। साल भर शहरों को पानी उपलब्ध कराने वाले तालाब और जल स्रोत शहरीकरण के दबाव में लुप्त हो गए हैं। ऐसे कारणों से जल प्रबंधन भी अस्त-व्यस्त होता जा रहा है ।उन्होंने जल प्रबंधन के बारे में बताते हुए कहा कि भारत में विश्व की 18% आबादी है जबकि जल संसाधनों के मात्र 4% स्रोत ही हमारे पास है। हिमालय के ग्लेशियर पिघल रहे हैं, समुद्र का जलस्तर बढ़ रहा है गंभीर दुष्परिणाम सामने आ रहे हैं ,जिसका बुरा प्रभाव किसानों महिलाओं और निर्धन वर्ग के लोगों के जीवन पर भी पड़ रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि मानवता को बचाने के लिए हम सभी को सचेत रहना होगा। उन्होंने पानी के मुद्दे से हर व्यक्ति को जोड़ने और जल आंदोलन को जन आंदोलन बनाने के उद्देश्य से सरकार के द्वारा जल शक्ति अभियान और जल जीवन मिशन के शुभारंभ की सराहना करते हुए व राज्य सरकार को भी बधाई देते हुए कहा कि कोरोना महामारी की चुनौतियों का सामना करने के साथ-साथ जल अभियान की सफलता में भी सराहनीय योगदान दिया है। उन्होंने कहा कि 29 मार्च से 30 नवंबर तक सभी जिलों में यह अभियान चलाया जाएगा। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि हम सभी संकल्प ले कि जिस तरह इतिहास का सबसे बड़ा टीकाकरण अभियान भारत में चलाया जा रहा है उसी प्रकार हम सब इस अभियान को भी इतिहास का सबसे बड़ा जल संरक्षण अभियान बनाएंगे।
